Isaac Alonso, the President and Founder, began his journey in 2008 as a Sales Technician at Star Micronics, the world’s second-largest receipt printer manufacturer. Specializing in software alliances and Latin American sales, Isaac honed his skills in sales, marketing, and software development. The launch of the first-generation iPad in 2010 marked a turning point, leading Isaac to work with pioneering iOS POS solutions like POS Lavu, TouchBistro, and Shopkeep.
Recognizing a gap in the market and driven by his vision for the future, Isaac decided to embark on his own entrepreneurial journey. In 2010, he founded Elite Pro Solutions (EPS), a technology POS company with a small distribution channel. Starting in his hometown of Elizabeth, NJ, Isaac’s initial success came from going door-to-door, offering the first distribution of new software systems. As EPS grew, Isaac built a dedicated team to manage the expanding accounts and ensure top-notch service.
In 2012, a chance meeting at a job site brought Isaac together with his old friend and high school companion, Jesse Pacheco. Jesse, an entrepreneur and electrician, infused EPS with new energy and a fresh perspective. He advised Isaac to seek out a software company they could not only sell but also design and partner with. This advice led them to secure an exclusive partnership with the award-winning Belgium-based company POSIOS in 2013. This partnership marked the official launch of Onpoint Solutions, with Onpoint becoming the exclusive distributor and development partner for POSIOS in the United States.
This strategic move transformed Onpoint. Collaborating closely with POSIOS owners and developers Jan Hollez and Zhong Xu, Onpoint began to influence the market significantly. The partnership allowed them to target accounts of all sizes and secure integration with processing banks for the first time. By winter 2014, Onpoint’s efforts culminated in a major success: securing a high-profile account with “La Marina” in New York City, a top summer destination at the time.
This success caught the attention of Lightspeed (LSPD), a publicly traded technology company, which made an offer to buy POSIOS, with Onpoint as its main distributor on the East Coast. The acquisition was approved, and Onpoint quickly expanded its territory, relocating to Florida. In Miami, Onpoint secured prominent deals with establishments like “The Palace” on Ocean Drive, 1-800-Lucky in Wynwood, and several locations in Coral Gables and Brickell.
After four successful years in Brickell, the COVID pandemic prompted Onpoint to return to its roots in Elizabeth, NJ and ultimately call Vintage City Offices their home base. Now, equipped with their own Onpoint POS system and a range of innovative solutions, Onpoint is poised for future growth. They are targeting new markets, including hemp, pet care, and spas, while maintaining a customer-first mentality. Onpoint’s strong alliances with banks, hardware, and software providers ensure their customers access to the latest technology, superior service, and unparalleled reliability.
Onpoint Solutions continues to take ownership in managing their merchants and enhancing their communities, striving to create environments where people are proud to work, live, and raise their families. With a focus on efficiency, effectiveness, and always staying Onpoint, the company’s vision for the future remains bright and unwavering.
